A World So Small

Was back in my hometown, attending a hen party of my cousin who's getting married. Well, not exactly hen party as people at the party included all of my cousin's relatives and her girlfriends.

Amidst the crowd, I had spotted a lady whom I found familiar; she looked like one of the people whom I've spotted in the lecture theatre during my undergraduate days in Chemistry lectures. Boy, was I right when my cousin introduced us!

I am an immediate cousin of the bride-to-be on her father's side and I found out that this lady is also an immediate cousin of the bride-to-be on her mother's side! Amazingly, 2 strangers had actually sat in the same lecture for 3 years without knowing that they were distantly related as in this case.

Come to think of it, I wonder how many of such distant relatives do I have whom I'm not even aware of and yet has appeared as passers-by in my life???

Mars vs. Venus Part II

Would sampling a greater pool of men & women increase the accuracy of facts???

Or would it simply just make things more complicated with seemingly large amount of deviation???

Mars vs. Venus

As a woman, sometimes you have doubts about what a man says from his perspective because you believe in your own intuition and interpretation of things or simply because you are not willing to buy his perspective of things...

But yet, at the same time, you can't help but be inclined towards believing his perspective of things because you're not a man...

A bug-ish issue I must say.

An analogy on parrellel lines

2 very cautious people are like parrellel lines that never cross. Because both don't seem to want to step beyond the boundaries - could be fear or comfort of being on their own line that each just remain treading on their own line...

Should the lines even cross???Or rather, will the lines ever cross??? Perhaps only when one person takes a step to tread beyond the line...otherwise, the 2 parrellel lines will always remain with the same distance in between...

A Teacher's Shopping List

Popular Book Co. will be a teacher's frequent shopping spot.
My shopping list as a beginning teacher:

- button magnets (for teaching chemistry - low-tech animation)
- (many!) files (there's lots of filing of resources to do)
- a bell/buzzer (classroom management)
- ten year series (teaching resources)
- a dozen red pens (an essential with all that marking!!)
- stamps (to avoid repetitive writing of comments e.g. "seen", "untidy", "late" & "well done")

That's all for now. I suspect the list might grow with time....
